Maintaining your computer is like maintaining

keep your computer running smoothly and

- Run Chkdsk /F or /R. and restart computer
- Run Disk Cleanup utility to remove all temporary
internet files and temporary files from computer, and
restart computer
- Run msconfig to disable all application that auto
start on login, and restart.
- Logon to computer in Safe mode, Create a new
Administrator/password account and add Passwords to all
accounts.
- limit all previously existing accounts access
rights, and restart computer
- logon to your normal account that is now restricted
or limited.
- Never login to the newly
created administrator account until system is clean of
all malware.
- Download and Run the latest Microsoft malware removal tool,
using "Run as" administrator account and restart
computer
- Download and Run the latest Microsoft Patches, and
restart computer
- Run Diskeeper Pro Hard drive Defrag utility, using
"Run as" administrator account, and restart computer
- Install and Run freeware SpyBot Search and Destroy
using "Run as" administrator account, and restart
computer
- install and Update Symantec endpoint
security after purchase of a valid Lic. using
"Run as" administrator account and restart computer
- install and Run registry Clean utility, using "Run
as" administrator account and restart computer
- Log into safe mode and start an AntiVirus scan, and
restart computer
- Run registry cleaner and registry backup, using "Run
as" administrator account and restart computer
- Run Drefrag or Diskeeper utility.
